Other Information
Birthdays
It is important that students feel special on their birthday! Students are allowed to bring in something to share with the class on their birthday (show and tell). Feel free to send a treat for the class on your child’s birthday, although this is completely optional. If your child has invitations for a birthday party, I will happily pass them out discretely into their friends’ planners to avoid hurt feelings.
Toys
Please make sure your child does not bring toys to school (including fidget spinners). These become distractions for them and their classmates. If a toy is to be used after school or at a friend’s house, it must be kept in their backpack all day.
Parties
We will have several class parties throughout the year to celebrate the holidays! I will ask each family to bring in a small treat once throughout the year for a party. This will be sent home in the September class newsletter. I will also remind those families prior to the party.
Behaviour
Students are required to make responsible decisions about their behaviour. Our class will make a respect agreement at the beginning of the year and students are expected to follow these guidelines. If issues arise, students may lose special privileges or parents may be contacted to help find a solution.
